Chancellor Robert Coombe has announced the appointment of two new senior staff members to the University. Tim Brooks will be the new vice chancellor for technology and chief technology officer, and David Greenberg will be the new vice chancellor for institutional partnerships.
Greenberg, who is the founder and chair of the Denver Schools of Science and Technology, will head the new Office of Institutional Partnerships, which will focus on the University’s relationships with other universities, private businesses, governments and a host of nonprofit entities.
Greenberg’s first task will be to serve as project manager for the presidential debate to be held on the DU campus next October.
“This responsibility is emblematic of the broader role of the office, as it requires that the University develop robust partnerships with the nonprofit Commission on Presidential Debates, our city and state governments, and a host of private sector entities that we hope will help to offset the cost of the debate,” Coombe said.
Greenberg, who was a founding partner of the communications firm GBSM and Associates, begins at DU this month.
Brooks, who previously served as the chief information officer at St. Louis University, will begin work at DU Jan. 1, 2012. He will manage University Technology Services and lead the creation of technology strategy for the University as a whole. Prior to his service at St. Louis University, he served in a number of technology management roles at Washington University in St. Louis.
