DU’s VIP card is a slam-dunk for staff, faculty and retiree Pioneer fans

For the cost of one theater ticket and a nice dinner out, University of Denver staff, faculty and retirees — and three friends — can attend an entire year’s worth of Pioneers athletic events, thanks to a new program.

The V.I.P. (Very Important Pioneer) card is available for purchase for $99 through the DU Division of Athletics and Recreation. The card entitles the holder to a ticket to all regular season home events (excluding hockey and postseason events) and an opportunity to bring up to three guests to every game based on availability.

Each quarter, the cardholder will receive a new card. Cards can be presented at the Ritchie Center Box Office in exchange for a ticket and a punch on the card. When the cardholder has collected 10 punches, the card can be submitted for entry in a monthly drawing. Prizes will include DU athletic gear, gift certificates and more.

Membership also entitles the holder to discounts on select hockey tickets.

The V.I.P. program was the brainchild of the DU Athletics Strategic Planning Committee for Faculty/Staff/Retiree Engagement. The committee wanted to express appreciation to those on campus who support the student-athletes in the classroom and beyond.

“Our goal is to foster relationships on campus in support of our students — which makes our programs a success both on and off the playing field,” says Angel Field, assistant athletic director of in-event production and strategic partnerships. “Our students continue to excel academically, due to the support and dedication of many faculty and staff. We are all grateful for the contributions towards the tradition of excellence for DU.”

The program is open to all current staff and faculty members as well as DU retirees. To learn more or enroll, call the Ritchie Center Box Office at 303-871-GOAL.
