Holiday spirit continues with campus donation drives

Although the holidays have wound down, the holiday spirit hasn’t.

Two campus organizations are sponsoring donation drives and are looking for contributions.

The Women’s College is sponsoring a donation drive for the Family Tree, an organization that provides a broad range of services and shelter to metro Denver families overcoming child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.

They are collecting any new items that can assist in year round operations to help the families participating in the programs. Some items that are among the most needed are diapers, baby wipes and car seats; backpacks and school supplies; cookware; cleaning supplies and gift cards for food, clothing stores and gasoline.

Donations can be dropped off in Suite 111 in the Chambers Center. The items will be delivered to the Family Tree the week of Jan. 7.

The Staff Advisory Council is sponsoring a “Pioneers for People” coat drive Jan. 9–18 that benefits the Denver Rescue Mission. They are requesting donations of (new or used) coats, hats, gloves, scarves and any other cold weather items.

Donations can be dropped off at these locations: University Hall, Sturm Hall, Mary Reed Building, Driscoll Student Center, Ritchie Center, Penrose Library, Fisher Early Learning Center, Chambers Center, Purchasing Services Building, Ricketson Law Building, Newman Center and the Ammi Hyde Building.

Monetary donations can be made online here.
