Remember to register for Emergency Notification System

Incoming students and new DU employees are encouraged to register for the University’s Emergency Notification System (ENS).

The automated system sends DU students, faculty and staff time-sensitive emergency messages via email, voicemail and text message. The system also alerts students, faculty and staff of weather closures.

Participants can provide multiple land line and cell phone numbers. The system will call every contact number and leave a voicemail if the call is unanswered. Text messages are optional and sent to only one number. Once the information is initially sent via the ENS, updates will be posted on the DU home page, DU Today and DU’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

While participation in the text and voice messaging notification is optional, enrolling is strongly encouraged.

“It is important for all members of the DU community to sign up for the ENS to ensure they receive critical information as quickly as possible should an emergency occur on campus,” says Don Enloe, director of campus safety. “Although the ENS is just one form of emergency communication, it is the most efficient in reaching the entire DU community.”
