Editor’s note

One of the things I love most about my job is the alumni it connects me with — those we cover in the magazine, those who write in to share their memories and experiences, those I meet at University events. Their lives demonstrate the very essence of DU–a place of innovation and creativity where academic exploration is celebrated and integrity forms the cornerstone.

The stories of our alumni keep me enthralled. Take, for instance, David Rothenberg, BA ’55, who is profiled in this issue. His life has been a remarkable journey that has led him from a lucrative career as a Broadway producer to championing the cause of ex-cons. His humanity and humility exemplify some of the best characteristics of DU Pioneers.

Each one of us has a story to tell. If you haven’t already, please reconnect with your fellow Pioneers through the University of Denver Magazine, an alumni program or a campus event. Share a class note, a memory or a story idea. Join the new online alumni community at www.alumni.du.edu. Nominate a former classmate for a Founders Day award, or attend a reunion, lecture or game.

Get to know your fellow alums and share your own story. They will appreciate knowing about you, as will I.
