The University of Denver and several local Middle Eastern restaurants will commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with a special lunch called “Gathering at the Table in Grace and Peace.” The event will be held at 11:30 on Monday, Sept. 12.
In a demonstration of unity for the diversity of cultures that represent the University’s students, faculty and staff, the event recreates a similar meal staged in the days after Sept. 11, 2001, in which the campus hosted several Middle Eastern restaurants in a show of community support. Many of the same restaurants and businesses will participate in this year’s event.
Participating restaurants include Amira Bakery, Beirut Grill, Damascus Restaurant, House of Kabob, Jerusalem International Market, Jerusalem Restaurant, Marrakech Café, Palais Casablanca and Ya Hala Grill.
