Lamont performance of the week: Cindy Lindeen-Martin organ concert

Cindy Lindeen-Martin performs works by Eugène Gigout, Pierre du Mage, J.S. Bach, Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger, Petr Eben and Maurice Duruflé Sunday in Hamilton Recital Hall.

A great organist plus a great organ adds up to a special Sunday-afternoon concert at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.

Cindy Lindeen-Martin is a well-known Denver organist with impeccable credentials, and we’re very fortunate to have her demonstrate her skills on the Schuke organ in Hamilton Recital Hall,” says organ instructor Joseph Galema.  “We’ll hear some of the finest organ literature, and I guarantee the organ will be showcased in all its glory.”

The William K. Coors Organ by Karl Schuke consists of 41 stops with 56 ranks, 2,848 pipes, six couplers, suboctave coupler for swell, and 4,000 general combinations with sequence pistons.  This powerful instrument will come to life when Lindeen-Martin performs works by Eugène Gigout, Pierre du Mage, J.S. Bach, Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger, Petr Eben and Maurice Duruflé.

The concert is at 3 p.m. March 4 in Hamilton Recital Hall, with a reception to meet the artist following the performance. Tickets — $21 for seniors and $19 for seniors — are available at the Newman Center box office. Admission is free for students from any school and all DU Pioneer Card holders.  Parking is free at the Newman Center parking garage.
