Men’s lacrosse advances to Championship Weekend with 15-13 victory over Ohio State

For the fourth time in five years, the University of Denver men’s lacrosse team will take part in NCAA Championship Weekend. The Pioneers punched their ticket to the semifinals Saturday afternoon, defeating Ohio State 15-13 in front of 13,076 fans at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. The crowd was the sixth largest in NCAA men’s lacrosse quarterfinal history.

After falling behind 7-1 over the course of the opening 18 minutes of play, the Pioneers went on a 9-0 run to take a lead they would not relinquish, ultimately taking the decision by a two-goal margin. Denver will next face Notre Dame at 1 p.m. Saturday in Philadelphia in NCAA Semifinal action.
