The University of Denver men’s tennis team will open the 2013 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship against No. 15 seed Florida on Friday, May 10, at a time to be announced.
The Pioneers will make their third NCAA championship appearance after earning an automatic bid and their first NCAA bid since 2010, when they were defeated in the opening round by Michigan.
The winner will face either California or Florida State in the second round on Saturday, May 11.
“We’re really excited,” says Denver head coach Danny Westerman. “Our momentum is great. We’ve won eight in a row, and we’re playing our best tennis at the best time of the year.””
The winner of the second round match advances to the round of 16 held May 16–21 at the University of Illinois.
