Pioneers head to Final Five

No. 2 seed Denver (22-10-5) plays No. 3 seed Wisconsin (19-15-4) in the semifinals at the 2009 Red Baron WCHA Final Five on Friday, March 20.

Puck drop is set for 1:07 p.m. MT at the Xcel Energy Center.

The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net North and broadcast live on AM 1510. Live stats and audiocasts are available on www.DenverPioneers.com and www.WCHA.com.

The winner of the Final Five, the WCHA’s post-season tournament, gets the Broadmoor Cup. DU is seeking  its WCHA-leading 16th playoff title. DU has won four Red Baron WCHA Final Five titles (1999, 2002, 2005, 2008) in its last four attempts. The Pioneers are 4-0 against Wisconsin this season, outscoring the Badgers 22-12. DU will compete in the WCHA Final Five without top forwards Tyler Bozak and Tyler Ruegsegger.
