The University of Denver hockey team faces off against reigning NCAA champion Minnesota-Duluth at Magness Arena at 7:37 on Nov. 4 and 7:07 on Nov. 5 — the only two-game series between the two teams scheduled for this season.
DU is 106-73-9 all-time against the Bulldogs dating back to 1961, and 68-32-4 in Denver. Most recently, the Pioneers and Bulldogs split a two-game series in Duluth, Minn., in December 2010.
Junior co-captain Drew Shore and sophomore Jason Zucker lead DU in scoring with 10 points each. Shore has recorded at least one point in all six games this season. Freshman Joey LaLeggia leads WCHA rookie defenseman with six points, including two goals last weekend to continue his three-game point and goal streak. Sophomore Beau Bennett and junior Adam Murray are both expected to play this weekend. Bennett sat out both games of the Michigan Tech series, and Murray missed Saturday’s contest.
During the first intermission of Saturday’s game, parents of DU hockey players will be honored and introduced in an on-ice ceremony.
