Myra Isenhart, an adjunct professor of conflict resolution co-authored an article, “Hiding in Plain Sight: How Mediators Can Build on Employee Efforts at Managing Conflict,” on the website mediate.com. She will co-present “The Role of Mediators in Facilitating Forgiveness” at the annual meeting of the Association of Conflict Resolution spirituality section.
University College Adjunct Professor Jan Rutherford published The Littlest Green Beret: On Self-Reliant Leadership (Pylon Publishing, 2011).
Penrose Library Assistant Professor Erin Meyer, Assistant Professor Jennifer Bowers, and Associate Professor Carrie Forbes had an article, “The research center: Creating an environment for interactive research consultations,” selected for inclusion in the American Library Association Reference Research Review for 2010, which highlights the best research on reference services for the past year. The article was originally published in Reference Services Review 38 (1): 57-70.
Law Associate Professor Laura Rovner presented “Content and Context — Use of Narrative Theory in the Initial Client Interview” at the Association of American Law Schools Conference on Clinical Legal Education in Seattle on June 15. She co-presented “A Five-Lesson Framework for Reaping Dividends from Spontaneous Classroom Controversy” at the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning at New York Law School on June 2.
Doug Farquhar, adjunct professor in the University College EPM program, authored an article, “International Trade Agreements Impacts on U.S. State Law,” to be published in the summer 2011 Gonzaga Journal of International Law.
Joseph Labrecque, senior interactive software engineer in the Center for Teaching and Learning, published Flash Development for Android Cookbook: Over 90 recipes to build exciting Android applications with Flash, Flex, and AIR (Packt Publishing, 2011).
Anton Camarota, an adjunct faculty member at University College, recently completed his PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University. His dissertation research focused on sustainability management in the solar photovoltaic industry and included development of a sustainability management framework and methodology for balancing economic, social and ecological capital. Camarota plans on applying this framework as part of his upcoming book on sustainability management.
Theater Assistant Professor Steven McDonald recently opened three designs as the resident sound designer for the Great River Shakespeare Festival, a professional repertory theater company in southeast Minnesota. King Henry the Fourth-Part One, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Fantasticks play in repertory through July 31.
Don McCubbrey, a clinical professor of business information and analytics in the Daniels College of Business, co-authored a paper in the June 2011 European Journal of Innovation Management entitled “The Development of an ‘Innovation Continuum’ Using Adaptive and Generative Systems.”
Geography Professor and Chair Andrew Goetz was invited for a MacArthur Foundation research presentation at Northwestern University on June 29, 2011. Goetz also gave a presentation about Denver for a meeting of the MacArthur Research Network on How Housing Matters to Families and Children.
Susan Cahill, a double bass instructor at the Lamont School of Music, presented a lecture and demonstration at the International Society of Double Bassists convention in San Francisco in June 2011. She will present a recital on the Denver Eclectic series on July 14 at 7 p.m.
John White, clinical professor in the Daniels College of Business School of Accountancy, presented a research paper, “Using UML to model Accounting Information Systems,” at the national Accounting Information Systems Educator’s Conference on June 24, 2011, in Fort Collins, Colo.
Donald Anderson, adjunct professor of organizational and professional communication at University College, has published a second edition of his textbook Organization Development (Sage Publications, 2012) and a new book of case studies in organization development called Cases and Exercises in Organization Development & Change (Sage Publications, 2011).
