Background
Chris Hughen is an associate professor of finance at the Daniels College of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and his experience includes both the private and public sectors.
He has been at Daniels since 2005. Prior to Daniels, he was an assistant professor of finance at Bowling Green University. He has also worked for Kimberly-Clark, performing forecasting and financial analysis for manufacturing operations. Dr. Hughen is actively involved in the CFA Institute, which is a global association of investment professionals. He previously served as president of the CFA Society of Toledo.
Dr. Hughen is responsible for teaching and conducting research in investments and international finance. Since 2001 he has published 13 peer-reviewed research articles in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Financial Research and Financial Management.
For the media, he can talk about the ever-evolving, complex issues of finance and investments, as well as economic issues of private and public companies, explaining complex financial situations in lay terms and presenting explanations that help readers and viewers understand the various ways changes in the local or national economy will affect their day-to-day lives.
