Penrose to offer more extended hours for winter quarter

Due to high student demand, Penrose Library will increase its extended hours this quarter to accommodate the study period for finals week.

“We’ve noticed that students are staying later and later,” said Bethany Sewell, Access Services Librarian. “Last fall quarter there were up to 300 students still in the library at midnight. We didn’t want to kick them out.”

The library will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m.–2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday through March 14.

In addition, the Late Night Study area will have 24-hour access on final exam days starting March 11 at 8 a.m. and ending March 14 at 5 p.m.

Students are invited to the Book Drop Café (inside the library) from 8 p.m.–midnight on March 11–13 for free drip coffee.
