Holocaust and genocide events to raise awareness

The University of Denver student organization Never Again!, along with the Holocaust Awareness Institute, has organized a week’s worth of activities for Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Week April 19–24.

The 2009 theme is “Resist” and is meant to educate the community on past acts of resistance.

“Whether through actions during the Holocaust such as making upside down letters in the gateway to Auschwitz or declaring the actions of your government to be genocide and getting the international community involved, we want to encourage our community to get involved and take action,” says Joel Portman, founder of Never Again!

Events are free and open to the public.
