Denver City Councilman Chris Nevitt, whose district includes DU west of University Boulevard, has been named chair of the City Council’s new GreenPrint Committee. The council created the committee to match Mayor John Hickenlooper’s Greenprint Denver program.
Among other tasks, the new panel will be looking at Denver’s climate action plan, building codes and city policy through a “green” lens and spearheading changes that are sustainable.
“Sustainability runs across everything the city does or should,” Nevitt says. Also on the panel are Charlie Brown, DU’s District 6 councilman on the east side of University Boulevard; Doug Linkhart, councilman-at-large; and Peggy Lehmann from District 4.
