Penrose Library extends hours for spring finals

When Penrose Library stayed open around the clock during winter finals, students took advantage of it. So, the library will extend its hours starting May 16.

“We’ve noticed that more students are staying later and later,” says Bethany Sewell, access services librarian. “Last quarter during finals week there were nearly 350 students still in the library at 11 p.m. We didn’t want to kick them out.”

Penrose will be open from 7:30 a.m.–2 a.m. Monday–Friday, and 9 a.m.–2 a.m. on Saturdays until May 22. On May 23, the library will stay open 24 hours a day through May 27. Penrose will be open 24 hours a day from May 30–June 1.

The UTS late night study will stay open 24 hours a day May 31– June 3. The study will close at 8 p.m on June 3. Penrose will close at midnight.

Students can get free coffee and cookies at the Book Drop Café from 6 p.m.– midnight from  May 30–June 1.
