Background

Kreps has a doctorate in anthropology and a master of arts degree in international studies. Her areas of specialization are museum anthropology; art, culture and politics; cultural heritage management and policy. She has conducted research on these topics in the Netherlands, Indonesia and United States and has considerable experience working with Native American communities, as well. In recent years, she has been involved in museum training projects in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam sponsored by UNESCO and the Ford Foundation. In recent years she became involved in the Museums as Places for Intercultural Dialogue (MAPforID) project of the European Union and continues to work with several museums and cultural organizations in Italy and the Netherlands on projects related to immigration and museums.  Her background also includes work with international environmental organizations on projects dealing with environmental and cultural conservation.
