Background

Cynthia Fukami is a professor of management for the Daniels College of Business.  From 2000 – 2002, she was the Evelyn and Jay G. Piccinati Professor for Teaching Excellence at the College, and chaired the department of management from 1991 – 1995.  She joined the University faculty as assistant professor in 1983.  After receiving her Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 1978, she was named assistant professor of organizations for the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a Fellow of The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and was a Carnegie Scholar for The Carnegie Teaching Academy. She currently sits on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Learning and Education Journal, and the Journal of Management Education and has published extensively on the subject of teaching. When working with the media, Fukami can discuss employee relations issues including compensation and labor union activities.  She has been featured extensively in both print and broadcast media.
