Background

Kristian Miccio (Fulbright Scholar, 2007-2008) is a nationally recognized expert on domestic violence, rape and other gender-related crimes. Miccio was a former prosecutor and founding director of the Center For Battered Women’s Legal Services, the largest public interest law center in the U.S. devoted to representation of battered women. She has appeared on “Larry King Live,” CNN, CBS News, and has been quoted extensively in the New York Times, Denver Post, Los Angeles Times, New York Newsday, and New York Daily News. Miccio was nominated to the White House Conference on Hate Crimes and has received numerous awards for the representation of battered women.
