Background
Steve Seifert has been Executive Director of the University’s highly-acclaimed Newman Center for the Performing Arts since July 2002. For a year before that, he consulted for the City of Denver on renovation of its historic municipal Auditorium, now the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. For four years before that, he was Executive Director of Opera Colorado, Denver’s respected grand opera company. For 14 years before that he practiced commercial law in Denver. Steve has spoken widely throughout the Denver metro area on topics as diverse as the law, opera, and arts funding. Organizations for which he has spoken include The Boulder Philharmonic, The Boulder Public Library, Central City Opera, The Denver Museum of Nature and Science, The Denver Public Library, Opera Colorado, the University of Colorado, and the University of Denver. He has served on the boards of many not-for-profit community organizations. Steve has also been active for many years as an advocate for public support of arts and culture through his role on the board of Arts for Colorado.
