TEDxChange, a 90-minute program marking the 10th anniversary of the Millennium Development Goals, will take place Sept. 20 in New York.
DU students and faculty can join a live webcast of the event at 8:45 a.m. in room 150 of the SIE Center. The Center is located in an annex of Ben Cherrington Hall, the home of the Josef Korbel School of International Studies.
The Millennium Development Goals are a set of United Nations initiatives dedicated to eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, ensuring environmental sustainability, developing a global partnership for development and fighting HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
The event will bring together thought leaders from around the globe representing government, media, business and philanthropy. TEDxChange will offer an opportunity to reflect not only on the accomplishments of the past decade, but on what we can all do to ensure the health and well-being of future generations.
Speakers include Melinda French Gates, Graça Machel, Hans Rosling and Mechai Viravaidya with music from the Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew. TED’s curator, Chris Anderson, will be the stage host for the event.
