Penrose Library put some of the treasures from its Carson-Brierly Dance Library on display in spring 2011 with “Ballet Struck: Lillian Covillo and Colorado Ballet,” a special exhibit of vintage dance memorabilia. The programs, photographs and scrapbook pictured here were donated by Colorado Ballet co-founder Covillo, who died in November 2010; other objects — including the fan, the ballet shoes and the dresser set — were donated by members of the Carson-Brierly board who knew or worked with Covillo.
