Undergraduate program jumps 10 points from 2010; ranked No. 64 in the U.S., top business program in Colorado
DENVER—BusinessWeek today announced that the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business is ranked No. 64 in the 2010 BusinessWeek undergraduate programs ranking, advancing 10 points from its 2010 ranking of No. 74. Daniels also is the top undergraduate business school in the state, according to BusinessWeek, which ranked Colorado State University No. 89 and Leeds School of Business at CU-Boulder No. 97.
“At Daniels, our most important priority is our students, and we are dedicated to the education of the next generation of ethical business leaders,” said Daniels Dean Christine Riordan. “We welcome this newest ranking from BusinessWeek because it demonstrates that we give our graduates the critical thinking skills needed to make a difference in the future of the global marketplace.”
To identify the top undergraduate business programs, Bloomberg BusinessWeek uses a methodology that includes nine measures of student satisfaction, post graduation outcomes, and academic quality. In addition to surveying students, Bloomberg BusinessWeek polled 775 corporate recruiters for companies that hire thousands of business majors each year, asking which programs turn out the best graduates, and which schools have the most innovative curricula and most effective career services. They also asked each institution the median starting salary for their most recent graduating class, average SAT scores, the ratio of full-time faculty to students, and average class size. The student survey supplied the percentage of business majors with internships and the hours students spend every week on schoolwork.
