DU Announces New Marketing and Communications Leader

The University of Denver (DU) this month welcomes newly appointed Vice Chancellor of University Communications and Chief Marketing Officer Kevin A. Carroll. A veteran marketing professional, Carroll will guide all facets of the University’s branding, communications and global marketing endeavors.

Carroll comes to DU from the Western Union Company, an international enterprise operating in some 200 countries worldwide. He most recently served as Western Union’s vice president and general manager for the global Web channel and marketing.

At DU, Carroll will lead the development of the University’s brand and messaging nationally and internationally.

“Our constituency comprises a vast array of different internal and external audiences with whom we must communicate using a similarly broad array of mechanisms and media,” says Chancellor Robert Coombe. “This is certainly no easy task.”

“I’m grateful to Chancellor Coombe and to the Board of Trustees for the opportunity to join the University of Denver at such an exciting time,” Carroll says. “DU’s reputation nationally and internationally continues to grow, and I’m eager to build upon this success.  Going forward, we will focus on ensuring that our diverse audiences have a clear picture of the University of Denver’s national and global impact as a great private university dedicated to the public good.”

Carroll holds a BS degree in management from Tulane University and an MBA in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
