American pianist Jerome Rose has performed with many of the world’s most distinguished orchestras and conductors and appears on tour in three continents each year. He has recorded numerous albums, including his most recent DVD release, Jerome Rose Plays Brahms Live in Concert. Rose is professor of piano at Mannes College of Music as well as founder and director of the International Keyboard Institute and Festival at Mannes.

Rose comes to DU April 10 to perform works by Romantic composer Robert Schumann, including Kreisleriana, which is considered one of Schumann’s greatest works.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. in Hamilton Recital Hall at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts, with a reception to meet the artist following the performance. Tickets — $21 for adults and $19 for seniors — are available at the Newman Center box office. Admission is free for students from any school and all DU Pioneer Card holders. Parking is free at the Newman Center garage.

Rose also will work with Lamont students during a master class at 2 p.m. April 11 in Hamilton Recital Hall. The class is free and open to the public to observe.
