Lindsey Buckingham to play Newman Center

Touring in support of his forthcoming sixth solo album, Seeds We Sow, Fleetwood Mac guitarist and singer Lindsey Buckingham will perform at DU’s Newman Center for the Performing Arts on Sept. 14. Tickets — $39.50–$95 — go on sale July 11 at www.newmantix.com.

“This might be the best work I’ve ever done. It shows a certain maturity and musicianship, and I feel like I have a lot of tools in my musical vocabulary from which to draw that are the product of the choices I’ve made. It’s on my own terms,” the 61-year-old Buckingham says of the new album in a posting on his website. “This is very much from the inside out and I hope I never stop doing that.”

Buckingham hasn’t released many details about the tour beyond the dates and locations, but at an April 22 concert at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, Calif., he performed songs from Seeds We Sow and other solo albums, as well as Fleetwood Mac classics like “Second Hand News” and “Go Your Own Way.” That show opened with a solo acoustic performance before Buckingham went on to play with a full band.

Coincidentally, Buckingham’s former girlfriend and Fleetwood Mac partner, Stevie Nicks, performs at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison on Aug. 9, about a month before Buckingham performs in Denver.
