The DU Pioneers ski team was honored by the Undergraduate Student Government and the Colorado Rockies in separate ceremonies on May 25.

The “boys of summer” joined University of Denver students May 25 honoring the boys (and girls) of winter.

First, outgoing DU Undergraduate Student Government president Antoine Perretta seized the annual May Days celebration as an opportunity to present the NCAA-championship DU ski team with a proclamation honoring the team for its third-straight national title.

Then, the team headed to Coors Field, where members were recognized by the Colorado Rockies baseball team and its fans.

DU’s 21 team championships in skiing are the most in NCAA history, ahead of Colorado’s 16 and Utah’s 10.

And the Pioneers aren’t just great skiers. The ski team boasts a 100 percent graduation rate and a grade point average over 3.5.
