Men’s basketball team beats Colorado State in Fort Collins

University of Denver junior Brett Olson scored a career-high 24 points, leading the Pioneers men’s basketball team to an 80–70 win over Colorado State Wednesday in Fort Collins. The win was the Pioneers’ first at Moby Arena since Jan. 6, 1979.

Senior Chris Udofia had 15 points and nine rebounds, and sophomore Dom Samac scored 12 points in his first career start. Junior guard Cam Griffin added nine points and eight rebounds for Denver.

“We played extremely well, and it was everybody. That was a very good road win against a team that is really good at home,” head coach Joe Scott said. “What I’m most impressed with is we did this off a devastating loss. That shows perseverance, and that’s what we needed to win this game and to keep improving as a team.”

Denver returns home to Magness Arena for a meeting with regional rival Wyoming on Sunday at 2 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast live on ROOT Sports.
