Sophomore Connor Cannizzaro scored five goals to lead the No. 4 seed University of Denver men’s lacrosse team to a 15-9 win over Brown in the NCAA Tournament First Round on Sunday afternoon at a sold-out Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on the DU campus.
Denver advances to play Ohio State at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Denver will look for its fourth Championship Weekend berth in the last five years.
The winner of Denver/Ohio State will play the winner of Notre Dame/Albany in the NCAA Semifinals on May 23 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
