Men’s lacrosse defeats Drexel, advances to Final Four

Powered by a seven-point performance from junior Erik Adamson, the No. 5 seeded University of Denver Pioneers men’s lacrosse team defeated the Drexel University Dragons 15-6 Sunday at Delaware Stadium in Newark, Del. Denver advances to play No. 1 seeded Duke in the semifinals of the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships in Baltimore on Saturday, May 24, at 11 a.m. MDT. The game will air live on ESPN2 from M&T Bank Stadium. This will be the third semifinal appearance for the Pioneers in four seasons.

Adamson finished with six goals and an assist for a career-high seven points, netting his third career sock trick in the process. Senior Jeremy Noble tied his season-high in points and assists, while also picking up four ground balls.

Sophomore Chris Hampton tied his career-high of 16 faceoffs won off 23 attempts, while also grabbing a career-high 11 ground balls on the day. Freshman Zach Miller and senior Harrison Archer scored two goals each, while Miller added an assist for three points.

Junior Wesley Berg and freshman Tyler Pace both finished with three points off one goal and two assists each, while junior Sean Cannizzaro and freshman Max Planning both tallied assists.
