As University photographer, Wayne Armstrong is responsible for taking photographs for clients throughout the University. Wayne’s work can be seen on the DU website and in the University of Denver Magazine. Since he started working at DU in 2007, he has won several photography awards as part of a team, and he earned a 2009 award for best photograph from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
Wayne started his career as a photographer in the U.S. Air Force, and he later became a commercial photographer. During a long career as a photojournalist, his assignments took him to many countries and to nearly every state across America.
His hobbies are playing guitar, reading biographies and history books, going to live theater, and seeing independent and foreign films. His varied interests include film history, comparative religions, electronic and computer technology, get-rich-quick schemes, and travel. His enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, daughters, mom, sister and two brothers.
