Following a road game at the University of Colorado on Thursday night, the University of Denver women’s basketball team welcomes the Oregon Ducks to Magness Arena on Sunday for a 1:30 p.m. MT contest with the Pac-12 contenders.

This will be the second overall meeting between the Ducks and the Pioneers. Oregon won the teams’ first meeting last season in Eugene, Ore.

Denver (6-2) is off to its best start since the 1991–92 season, and already have beaten Front Range rivals Wyoming, Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Air Force. Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year Kaetlyn Murdoch of Temple, Texas, is enjoying a strong start to the season as the senior is averaging 17.0 points per game and nearly six rebounds per game. Sophomore Quincey Noonan of Broomfield, Colo., is also giving DU a great second option, averaging 10.3 points through the first eight games, including a season-high 15 against Northern Colorado.

Emiko Smith, a preseason all-conference third team selection from Los Angeles, is beginning to make a name for herself in the conference and the nation. Smith currently leads the Pioneers in assists per game (5.9) and has cracked the NCAA’s top-20 in assists per game.

Women’s basketball individual game tickets range from $8–$11. Single-game tickets may be purchased at the Ritchie Center Box Office, by phone at 303-871-2336 or online at www.DenverPioneers.com/tickets. DU students are admitted to all Denver men’s and women’s basketball games free with their Pioneer Card.
